Masayuki Saeki, who is at the peak of his advertising career, living with a loving family, and his only daughter is getting married soon, is diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's disease.
Played by Academy Award nominee Ken Watanabe ("Last Samurai", "Batman Begins", "Memoirs of a Geisha"), he expressed his passion for putting this work onto the big screen when he was in Hollywood.
He is not only the leading actor, for the first time he is also the executive producer of this movie. Moreover, the role Emiko, who fully supports her husband even after the diagnosis, is played by famous actress Kanako Higuchi.
Other cast members including Kenji Sakaguchi, Hazue Fukiishi, Asami Mizukawa, Noritake Kinashi, Mitsuhihro Oikawa, Terayuki Kagawa, Eriko Watanabe and Hideji Otaki, brightly decorated this film.
The original work, "Ashita no Kioku" (Memories of Tomorrow) by Hiroshi Ogiwara has won the 18th Yamamoto Shugoro Award and ranked the 2nd in the Honyataisho 2005.
Serious subject is interwoven with calming humor, and the love between husband and wife is depicted by talented Director Yukihiko Tsutsumi ("Trick", "Keizoku: The movie", "Ikebukuro West Gate Park").

May 30, 2007 Screening for Benefit
Film, “Memories of Tomorrow,” starring Ken Watanabe (“Letters from Iwojima,” “Last Samurai”) will be screen on Wednesday, May 30 at 7:30 p.m. at Aratani/Japan America Theatre in Little Tokyo. VIP tickets are $100 each and will include the reception with Watanabe and reserved seating. Regular tickets are $15. Proceeds will benefit Alzheimer’s Association and Little Tokyo Service Center. Watanabe plays Saeki, a 50-year-old ad executive whose life is practically perfect: he commands the respect of his employees and he loves his wife Emiko (Kanako Higuchi). But one day, Saeki has trouble remembering names and confusion sets in. His wife convinces him to visit a doctor, who delivers a devastating diagnosis: early-onset Alzheimer’s. “Memories of Tomorrow” follows Saeki and Emiko as the couple embark on a journey where every day marks a step closer to losing everything.
